Our Learning

The American School of Bombay makes the application process for new students as simple and transparent as possible. The journey towards personalized attention begins with the Office of Admission, knowing that all children and families transition differently.

To begin the application process, please be sure to first read the tabs on Age Requirement/Grade Placement below, and if applicable, the tab on Indian Nationals. It is important that you review ALL information before you progress to the inquiry stage.

The Admission Process

The learning at Keystone goes beyond the confines of a classroom

Keystone Difference

In early years, children absorb surroundings, forming a vital foundation. Seen as competent, inventive beings, they express ideas through art, play, and more.

View of the child

Learning thrives on trust, respect, and encouragement—a social process. A teacher, as observer and guide, enriches a child's exploration, fostering connections and expanding knowledge.

Role of Teacher

The environment, our third teacher, offers natural light, order, and beauty. Open, uncluttered studio spaces connect children to real-life scenarios, fostering collaboration, communication, and sensory learning.

Role of Environment

Children, linked to family, community, culture, and place, grow through relationships with parents, family, and educators. Collaborative communication fosters shared goals.

Role of Family

The Approach

Keystone Early Years

Keystone Atelier is an Early Years Program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, catering to children aged 2.5 to 5.5 and their families, fostering a love for learning. Our environment is safe, nurturing, and creative, valuing each child's unique potential. Recognizing the profound influence of family, community, and culture, we encourage effective learning through exploration. Grounded in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which views children as strong, capable, and resilient, our teachers act as designers, collaborating with children to extend thinking and encourage exploration. The core philosophy encompasses innovative dimensions that shape our program.

Keystone Middle School Program

At the Primary level, with an integrated Cambridge primary curriculum we provide a connected learning experience, wherein the learners always have the freedom to question. The homeroom teaching concept brings lessons alive through vivid live projects and absorbing activities that heighten student curiosity and engage them both intellectually and emotionally. The most important aspect of our primary learning is to make each and every child a self-directed learner. We encourage our primary–level kids to learn using various modes like hands-on learning, peer learning, assimilating feedback to improve, and independent research which encompasses self-directed learning. Our enthusiastic and dedicated teachers capture primary students’ interests and are motivated to seek answers to questions, plan investigations, explore ideas using equipment and resources, and work with others
